ONE. Paste the base into a new Photoshop document. Make sure the setttings are 100 pixels by 100 pixels, with a Transparent background, and RGB
mode.
TWO. Duplicate the base into a new layer (Layer 2). Set it to
Screen at 50%. Merge these layers. (Layers >> Merge Visible)
THREE. Make sure you only have one layer (Layer 1) and then go to Filter >> Sharpen.
FOUR. The picture's kinda dull, so we wanna make it brighter. Go to Image >> Adjustments >> Hue/Saturation. Set the saturation
to anywhere between +30 and +40, whatever suits you.
FIVE. Create a new layer. We will be using the gradient tool, so if your gradients are acting weird on you (as in, you can't make your own), reset them.
For your gradient, set the foreground to
#900000 and the background to
#FF9899. Use the gradient tool on this layer (Layer 2).
SIX. Set the gradient layer (Layer 2) to
Lighten.
SEVEN. Duplicate the base again (Layer 1) and paste it into a new layer (Layer 3). Set it to
Overlay at 30%.
EIGHT. Merge all visible layers (Layers >> Merge Visible), save, and voila! You should end up with something like this:
